Defining and Measuring Housing Insecurity in the United States

In two papers recently published by researchers at USC Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work, the authors develop a comprehensive definition of housing insecurity, as well as a measurement scale that captures housing insecurity in a multi-dimensional way.

The authors of these papers also put forth that homelessness is an extreme form of housing insecurity, and therefore both issues should be considered concurrently rather than separately.
