Nourished

Updated: Apr 17, 2018

Nourished was launched in the Spring of 2016 through the GC2EH, in partnership with the USC Caruso Catholic Center, the USC Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work, and PATH Ventures. Current USC undergraduate and graduate students are brought to a PATH permanent supportive housing site for weekly healthful meals and intentional conversations, in a ministry of presence.

Students form relationships with the residents and learn their stories, dispel myths associated with homelessness, and in turn a community is formed around the program. The program is a benefit for PSH residents as it gives them healthful food choices, positive social connections, and connection to the greater Los Angeles community. Additionally, oral histories provided by residents are being collected by students to document the experiences of those who have been homeless.
