Aaron’s research interests focus on marginalized communities and housing instability in the U.S. South. He is specifically interested in systemic economic barriers that disproportionately affect transgender people. His dissertation will focus on experiences of housing instability among transgender and gender expansive (TGE) people in the U.S. South. The proposed project aims to better understand TGE Southerners' experiences with housing instability and the mutual aid networks developed to support this population.

Anthony Traver holds a BA in Clinical Psychology from Boston College and an MSW from Syracuse University. He is a licensed clinical social worker whose social work practice in Portland, Oregon focused on delivering integrated housing and healthcare services to individuals experiencing chronic homelessness, disability, and social marginalization. Anthony is a doctoral candidate at The Ohio State University College of Social Work and a graduate research assistant at the Age-Friendly Innovation Center. His research examines the impact of housing allocation, access, and quality on health equity in later life.
